Course Description Introduction to computer aided technical drawing. Basic drawing functions and multi-view projection.Sectioning and conventions. General concepts in 3D modelling. Creating parts in 3D design and solid modeling. Transfering 3D parts to drafting detailing. Assembly modelling and assembling parts. Surface modelling. Objectives The objectives of this course is to teach the students; 1. computer aided 2D drafting and 3D solid modeling, and to create fully defined engineering models 2. fundamentals of CADD and the apply drafting and modelling methods on a specific CADD package. 3. how to design and align elements of an assembly and create assembly drawings in computer environment. how to print and present standard 2D blueprint and solid models.
Outcomes The students will demonstrate their ability to 1. draw 2D drawings in standard 2D blueprint forms, 2. dimensioning in 2D and 3D drawings, 3. create solid model of a part, 4. design and align given parts in an assembly, 5. print out and prensent 2D and 3D drawings
