Founded in 2001, interior
architecture is one of the newest departments in the oldest technical
university of turkey. In 2005 we commenced our graduate level education as
one of the five founding institutions of the imiad – international master’s
programme of interior architectural design, and this gave us great energy and
possibilities of staff mobility… The department is on its way to
define its distinctive place within a well founded school of architecture. In
this goal we focus on international and inter-institutional co operations
through workshops. Our education is studio based.
We see the other courses as feeding the studio and we try to integrate the
courses with the studio topic as much as possible… There are however many
courses offerd by other departments that the erasmus students can take. The
design issues of the studios are related to istanbul, a city of metropolitan
potential – corporate identity, revitalization of historic buildings and
large scale projects |
