Analysis of Community-based Dictionaries

This a hobby of Amaç Herdağdelen and me: We download community-based on-line dictionaries, like Ekşi Sözlük and İTÜ Sözlük, and then we analyze their hyper-textual structure and semantic content to extract interesting information. This way, we were able to guess the sexes of the users, detect sub-communities, suggest relevant pages, predict the growth of the dictionary... And, there are a lot more to do.

Bu Amaç Herdağdelen ile benim hobimiz: Ekşi Sözlük ve İTÜ Sözlük gibi internet üzerindeki topluluk tabanlı sözlükleri indiriyoruz ve metin bağlantılarının yapısını ve anlamsal içeriğini analiz ederek ilginç bilgiler çıkarıyoruz. Bu yolla, örneğin, kullanıcıların cinsiyetlerini tahmin edebiliyoruz, alt toplulukları tespit edebiliyoruz, ilgili başlıklar önerebiliyoruz, sözlüğün büyüme hızını kestirebiliyoruz... Ve bunların dışında daha yapılabilecek pek çok şey hâlâ bekliyor.
