  • Turkey's first High Resolution Remote Sensing Satellite GÖKTÜRK: With 2.5 m. of resolution, planned to meet the image requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces as well as other institutions that require satellite images for URBAN DEVELOPMENT, disasters management, emergency situations, agriculture and transportation. GÖKTÜRK-2 was transported from Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI), Turkey to Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, China on November 23, 2012 and launched on December 18, 2012 with a LM-2D LV. Project was an Earth Observation Scientific Research and Technology Satellite Development Program that has been funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). https://www.tai.com.tr/en/project/gokturk-2

  • The 2014 LCLUC Annual Spring Science Team meeting will focus on Urban Land Use and Land Cover Change. Presentations at the meeting will include project status updates, including methods being adopted for Urban LCLUC studies and analysis. The meeting will also include discussions and updates on LCLUC international initiatives that include; NASA-NEESPI, NASA-MAIRS, and GOFC-GOLD networks (SCERIN and CARIN). http://lcluc.umd.edu/
