Assistant Professor

I received my B.S. and M.S. degree from Department of Environmental Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2001 and 2003.

I continued my education through Ph.D. degree in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. I received my Ph.D. degree in 2009 and started working in Environmental Engineering Department at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2010.

I have worked with Prof. Ted Russell and Dr. Yongtao Hu on the use of satellite NO2 retrievals for air pollution science during my Ph.D. studies. Improving air quality modeling and emission inventories of air pollutants using various observation platforms is the main goal of my research. Currently I am working on a project (IMNOXE) to improve NOx emission inventories for Turkiye which is supported by a Marie Curie International Reintegration Grant from the European Commission.

I am also the ERASMUS co-coordinator of the ITU Environmental Engineering Department.
