Buluttan Weather Intelligence & Climate Adaptation
-Creating a comprehensive wind power generation forecasting algorithm for the wind farms for the operational forecasts
Nordex SE
-Evaluate wind measurement campaigns (type of equipment, localization, subcontractors etc.) in order to evaluate wind resource and reduce uncertainty on analysis at optimized costs, -Analyze wind and meteorological data, -Conduct wind flow modeling studies with appropriate software (Wasp, WindPro etc.), -Calculate wind energy projects with WindPro for assessment of site specific parameters, -Implementation of the Nordex standards into the wind flow simulations, -Produce long term wind and net production reports and statistical uncertainty analysis (P50, P90, P99 etc.), -Support the project developers` yes in the definition of optimal turbine layouts, -Perform site suitability analysis and reports in accordance with the standards set by Nordex in order to define the class of wind sites and determine the most adequate turbine model.
METAR (Meteorological Research Clup)
It is an interdisciplinary student club, founded by ITU students in 1991, aiming to contribute to the professional and personal development of students, to increase communication between department students, and to carry out studies in order to raise students' awareness on meteorological issues. METAR organizes seminars, courses, presentations, technical trips, social events and regular meetings in line with the targets it has set, and plans to continue these studies by developing them.
Beginning Node Academy
Beginning Node Academy is a program founded by Beginning Node, a Turkish Informatics Foundation initiative. With the main focus of teaching university students 21st Century core competencies, it serves as an alternative form of education. All of our courses are prepared in accordance with WEF and OECD reports and are taught by pioneers in their own fields.
Meteo Data Analysis and Reporting Team
MeteoVAR which is a ITU student team aimed at performing data analysis with a professional approach, give meaning to the numerical and visual results obtained from the studies carried out by assimilating the written publication formats such as reports and articles, raising awareness with simplified expressions in order to address the public, increased familiarity with article and report writing techniques, mastering the basic functions of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel, data analysis and visualization by learning to use R program, learning tips that can be used in the interpretation of data, developing the visualization of data by doing case study practices.
