EVODES

EVODES is a web-based application that lets you evolve poster designs interactively. Deniz Cem Önduygu and I designed and implemented EVODES as an evolutionary computing project. To generate posters usign EVODES, firstly, you provide the assets (images, texts, typefaces, etc.) that can be used in the design. The evolution starts with a population of completely random layouts. Then, as you select the best, and as EVODES replicates and mutates the selected, the evolutionary process generates better and better designs; just like in the case of Darwinian evolution. But in this case, you are a part of the process as well.
