UUM 622B – "Advanced Problems in Compressible Flow"

Spring 2002

Professor:     Dr. K.B. Yüceil, UUBF 214 Tel: 285-3137 and TAM 101 Tel: 285-3149

Office Hours: TF 14:00-15:00, and by appt.

Text: There is not one particular text for this class. Class notes plus suggested readings/note-taking from the various texts given under a) through e) below should be adequate. For assignments, tests, etc., you will need a copy of NACA 1135 (Equations, Tables, Charts for Compressible Flow, Ames Research Staff). There will, in addition, be ‘hand-outs’ on selected topics.

Classes, etc:

  • 2 quizzes (during class time)
  • 1 2-hour mid semester exam (not during class time)
  • Final exam (Tuesday, May 21, 10:00-13:00)
  • (You will be given 2 weeks notice for the quizzes and the mid-semester exam)

  • a) Quizzes (15% each)     30%
  • b) Mid-semester exam     30%
  • c) Final exam                   40%
  • Total 100%

To be awarded an overall grade for the course, items a), b), and c) must be taken.

    Additional Texts:
