PROJECTS
Cryptographic Application-Specific Instruction-Set Processor Sep 2011 - Jun 2012

Despite, flexibility and wide range of applications of general purpose processors (GPPs), their performance and efficiency might not satisfy requirements for some specific applications like cryptography. They are also open to any attacks which make them inappropriate for security applications. However, application-specific instructions set processors (ASIPs) have a customizable instruction-set that can be tuned towards specific requirements. In this project, an ASIP processor with a special instruction set for performing AES encryption algorithm is to be developed and implemented on FPGA.

CanSat Model Satellite Designed and developed microcontroller based electronic hardware, embedded software and wireless communication subsystem of the satellite. Team ranked 1St in the CanSat 2012 international competition.

Jan 2012 - Jun 2012
A model satellite was built for the Cansat competition held in Texas, USA in Jun 2012. Competition was supported by NASA, AAS, AIAA. Cansat was able to take images and gather temperature, pressure, moisture, GPS data on the fly and send it to a ground station over a RF radio link. It also had a subsystem to release landing unit (containing a raw egg) at a certain altitude and perform safe landing (not to damage the egg and the system hardware) using descent controlling system.

A FM Modulator for Software Defined Radio Applications Feb 2011 - May 2011
Designed a DDS (Direct Digital Sythesis) based FM modulator and implemented in FPGA using VHDL.

Dog Repeller

Oct 2010
Designed a dog repeller device generating sounds in dog’s hearing frequency range.
