Topic: Migration of Bubbles Under the Combined Action of Thermocapillary and Gravity.
Short Summary: Two dimensional Navier-Stokes equations together with energy equation will be solved for incompressible flow in the present of thermocapillary forces due to variable surface tension being the function of the temperature, and the gravity forces. The governing equations will be solved by “one-fluid” approach using finite difference/front tracking method. Fractional step method will be used to split the momentum equation and then advance in time. Effects of Reynolds, Marangoni, capillary and Bond number will be studied.
Can Oğuz
Topic: Axisymmetric Simulation of a Bubble in Thermocapillary Flows
Short Summary: Navier-Stokes equations coupled with energy equation will be solved in axisymmetric flows in the present of a bubble. Surface tention forces depend on temperature. Therefore, there will be a bubble motion towards the hot region. Gravitational forces will be neglected. “One-fluid” approach in the whole domain will be used to discritize the governing equations. Finite difference/front tracking method will be used. Effect of Reynolds, Marangoni and capillary numbers on the terminal velocity of the bubble will be studied.
