He completed his masters degree at Istanbul Technical University, Dr. Erol Üçer Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MİAM), Sound Engineering & Design program and his Ph.D. at Istanbul Technical University, Musicology and Music Theory department. Since 1996, he has worked as a guitarist and vocalist in many rock/metal bands. Since 2004, he has been involved in many albums, films, tv shows and documentaries as a recording, mixing and mastering engineer, producer, composer and musician. The immersive 16 channels sound design and installation called ‘Soundscape’ was exhibited at the 1. Istanbul Design Biennial in 2012. Based on the findings in his doctoral dissertation, he proposed ‘cultural timbre cognition’ as a research area. He completed his post-doc research in Canada, supported by TÜBİTAK and ITU BAP, titled as ‘Cultural timbre cognition in different cultures and cultural aesthetic bonds’, which started in 2017 and continued for one year at the University of Calgary, Alberta. He is currently a faculty member both at the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory & MIAM Advanced Studies in Music

• The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) 2219 Award for International Research Project called “Determining the timbre cognition and aesthetic bonds focusing on cultural timbre cognition differences” at University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada from 2017/08 to 2018/08.
• 1. Istanbul Design Biennial Exhibition Participant, “SOUNDSPACE” 16 channels of Immersive Audio Installation, IKSV / Istanbul Modern, 2012.
• Researcher/Audio Engineer for "Restoration and digitization of 78 rpm vinyl archive" (~1000 sides) project supported by ITU BAP between 2007-2009.
• Golden Butterfly Award (Altın Kelebek) for the best Soundtrack “Nefes” full feature film in 2010.
• Worked on International Productions from Türkiye, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Syria, France & Canada.
• Erasmus+ coordinator of the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory undergrad, masters & doctoral programs since 2020.
