Objectives

Nowadays digital systems come more important in electronic system design. In this course, the aim is to give students digital system design techniques for to develop and/or design digital systems using logic components.

Previous knowledge

  • Introduction to digital systems

Content

Some combinational circuit elements, state reduction and state assignment for synchronous sequential circuits, universal sequential circuits, registers, common bus, and transfer between registers, counters, perturbation technique, frequency dividers, realization of sequential circuits using algorithmic state machine charts, complements, subtraction using complements, arithmetic circuit blocks.

Outcome

Using digital system design techniques an ability to develop and/or design a system or system components to meet desired specifications, performance, and capabilities.
