The company was founded on April 11,1981 by Emre KÖSE in Istanbul as a small sport firm that name was ASLAN.The company has 234 department store in 54 city and 13 country and we employed more than 8,000 people as 2013.

Emre KÖSE has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LION since 2001 . He and his team achieved to LION an widespread international experience of almost 22 years in the sporting footwear and clothing industry. Emre KÖSE was athlethe in 1970-1978 and after he got design and manufacturing courses in Europe ,Emre graduated majorty of Economic and Management from Istanbul Technical University.
Emre KÖSE who is CEO of the company of LION was atlethe of national Turkey team in 1980's and his dream is founding a small and individual sport shop to create own products about sport. After he left from sport because of his disability in 1989, Emre made a decision to launch to his dreams.Firstly, Emre KÖSE went to get design and manufacturing courses about his business in Europe.After he came back to Turkey, Emre and his brother Sefa KÖSE found the firm of ASLAN which has two branches in April,1992. The company was grew up rapidly by brothers because of their sport passions and business standarts.After the company spreaded the Europe,company name was changed as LION but company's logo was not change in terms of publicity.
