Guidelines for Oral Paper Presentations
- The time for oral paper presentations is 20 minutes including introduction by the session chair and questions and answers.
- There will only be a data projector and laptop computer available for presentation. (No overhead projectors - No transparencies!)
- If you want to show videos please make sure that you bring the necessary Codec files with you. Please keep in mind that videos sometimes do not display properly. It is a good idea to check your presentation during the breaks before your presentation.
- There will be a folder with your session number in the laptop that we provide. You should install your presentation and all necessary files within that folder with the help of our technical assistant.
- MS powerpoint will be available. You should also bring a pdf version of your presentation with you.
- Presentation from your own laptop is not recommended to be able to adhere to the announced timing.
Guidelines for Poster Presentation
- Poster presentations will take place during the extended coffee breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each poster session is one hour long. Posters should be set up before the poster session starts. However, poster presenters can set their posters earlier if they desire. Morning session posters should be taken off during lunch break on the same day at the latest and afternoon session posters should be taken off by 18:00 on the same day at the latest.
- Upstanding boards for fixing your poster and adhesive tape will be provided. The size of the board available to each poster will be: Width: 2000mm x Height: 1000mm per paper. You are free to arrange the content and presentation style of your poster as long as it fits this size.
Some Recommendations for Poster Presenters:
- Colorful and well prepared posters draw a lot of attention as compared to just fixing the pages of your paper on the poster board. Please devote time into the preparation of your poster.
- Poster presentations allow in-depth discussions with the interested audience. The level of interaction with the audience in the form of direct questions and answers is much higher as compared to oral paper presentations. Poster presenters should be ready to provide both a short (2-3 min) and an extended (5-10 min) talk about their poster.
- Poster presenters may augment the poster by presenting some simulations on a laptop. Note that battery operation is recommended as electricity will not be available in the vicinity of the poster boards.
- Poster presentations may be accompanied by exhibiting hardware like sensors.
- Poster presenters may provide some handouts like a print version of their poster presenter.
