Abstract:

One way to solve the state-feedback pole assignment problem for multi-input systems is by expressing the state-feedback matrix, $K_{s}$, as a dyad(ie. $K_{s} = \bff \, \bk$) and, therefore, basically converting the problem into a single-input state-feedback pole assignment problem. In the literature, there appear to be several separate methods for solving this resulting problem. In this paper, these methods are unified by showing the relationships between them and in particular their relationship to the controllable standard form. A brief comparison of the methods considered for both numerical and symbolical calculations is also included.
