(Proje Yöneticisi), Metin Ergeneman Proje Süresi : 2006 Proje Özeti : This project is aimed to prepare a national inventory based on GHG emissions resulting from the transport sector in Turkey with regards to Turkey’s commitments to the UNFCCC resulting from the ratification of the Convention on 24th May, 2004. In two consecutive stages, the GHG emissions were estimated. Initially, estimates in accordance with IPCC Tier 1 approach, using the methodology for computations on a fuel consumption basis in different activities of the transport sector have been compiled. In the second stage of this work, refinements to previous Tier 1 results are made in road transport, rail transport and domestic aviation utilizing IPCC Tier 2/3 methodology. The results are analyzed and discussed in the report, indicating effects of certain improvements in near and long term transportation technologies and strategies for future reductions in transport based GHG emissions.. Further analysis of present estimates on GHG emissions and future projections depending on various parameters are also included. * * * |
