Gels
are fascinating materials with a wide range of structural properties and diverse applications. This workshop takes place within the framework of collaboration between the research groups of Oğuz Okay (Istanbul Technical University) and Wilhelm Oppermann (TU Clausthal) which is supported by TÜBİTAK and BMBF grants and dedicated to the improvement of the mechanical performance of hydrogels by introducing reversible breakable crosslinks with finite lifetimes, instead of permanent crosslinks. The workshop will highlight recent advances in synthetic and biological gels. Structure-property relations, techniques for the improvement of the mechanical performance of hydrogels, microgels and their novel applications will be presented by each of our invited speakers. It is also our aim that this workshop will provide a venue to enhance interdisciplinary interactions and collaboration amongst researchers. The organizers are looking forward to seeing you in İTÜ. |
