As part time employment worked  at the Physics Department of Marmara Research Center and later at Feza Gürsey Institute of  TÜBİTAK.   

For a while was chairman of the physics department at Marmara Research Center

Founded the TÜBİTAK TBAG Çalışma Grubu (ÇG/1) in 1991 and acted as the first head of the group.  At this position organized many local and national conferences.

Is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Turkey .  was elected as associate member in 1994 and was promoted to a full member in 1997, resigned on November 3, 2011.

Got the TÜBİTAK Teşvik Ödülü ( Encouragement prize)  in 1981.

Got the Alexandre von Humboldt Stiftung scholarship in between 1978-80

Between 1982-87 was an associate member of International Centre for Theoretical Physics at Trieste, Italy.

Was a board member and the chairman of the local organization committee at the 1st and 2nd Regional ICFA Instrumentation Summer Schools in 2002 and 2005.
